Frequently Asked Questions
Is my PDF data secure when using this tool?
Yes, completely. All processing happens directly in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your PDF files are never uploaded to any server. Your documents remain entirely private and secure on your device.
What page number formats are available?
You can choose from four formats: simple numeric (1, 2, 3), Roman numerals (I, II, III), dash-surrounded numbers (- 1 -), and "Page X of Y" format. Each format can be placed at any of six positions on the page.
Can I start numbering from a page other than 1?
Yes! You can set a custom starting number. For example, if your PDF is part of a larger document starting at page 10, set the start number to 10 and all pages will be numbered accordingly.
Does this tool modify my original PDF?
No. The tool creates a new PDF with page numbers added. Your original file remains unchanged. The numbered PDF is available as a separate download.
